PEYMAN  HOSSEINI

I'm a PhD student (Sep 2022 - Present) at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and Computational Linguistics Lab, supervised by Matthew Purver and Ignacio Castro. I am passionate about exploring the realm of Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and most recently, Multi-modal AI research.

Since the start of my PhD, I have been working on multiple projects related to NLP and Computer Vision. These include a project on analyzing annotator disagreement in subjective tasks in English and Arabic languages. Furthermore, I recently worked with Mehran Hosseini on introducing a new convolutional layer that helps improving different families of image geerative models including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Variational AutoEncoders (VAEs) and this proved immensely useful for mitigating some of the long-standing problems of image generative networks such as generation of contorted and mutated hand images .

I am also part of the Intelligent Games and Games Intelligence (IGGI) group, a leading PhD research programme aimed at the Games and Creative Industries. My PhD project is fully-funded by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence. Square Enix is my PhD project's industrial partner. You can see a brief description of my research here.

Before Joining QMUL, I completed my B.Sc. (Sep 2017 - Feb 2022) in Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), where I worked with Alireza Basiri on introducing and improving existing classification and clustering algorithms inspired by Decision Trees, Rule-Based classification algorithms, and Evolutionary algorithms.

Please feel free to contact me if you like to know more about my research, like to collaborate with me on ideas, or like to have my resume from any of the channels below.
